🚨 Gaza Verified: Emergency appeal for @aseelfromgz
Aseel, her lovely cat Liza, and her family are in the danger zone in North Gaza and need your help to get to the South.
To find transportation, rent land, and get a tent is going to cost them roughly $4,500 when you figure in the 40% commission they’ll have to pay when withdrawing the money in Gaza. They’ve already raised $330 thanks to your kind donations.
So now we have a goal:
$2,432/$4,500 → $2,068 left to go!
We’re past the half-way mark! Let’s do this!

🚨 I’ve just heard from @aseelfromgz after almost two days.She’s alive but things are not good.
They left their tent because it was not safe but had to return because they had nowhere else to go. She couldn’t reach me because the Internet was down.
I’m trying to find out if there’s any amount of money we can send over that will mean that she and her family can immediately move South and out of the danger zone.
(Her cat Liza also had her surgery yesterday but hasn’t woken up from it yet. She’s on a drip.)

I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who donated this evening.
We managed to raise over $2,000 in around 3 hours.
And we still have a smidgen over $2,000 left to go before Aseel and her family (and… say it with me now… the queen of meow, Liza the cat) can afford transportation, land, and a tent to escape to the South.

How are you all doing this morning?
It was a late night last night so I gave myself an extra hour in bed this morning so I can function (at least somewhat) properly.
Aseel’s Internet connection is better in the evenings but I’ve messaged her to see if she’s online and we can continue the drive when she is. (She sends me the updates of the donations received to her PayPal account so I can’t give you an update of the ones we got while we were sleeping but I will the first chance I get.)
To recap the state of things from last night, we set out with a goal of raising $4,500 for Aseel, her family, and their adorable but currently poorly little cat, Liza with $330 already raised at the start of the drive. We managed to raise a little over $2,000 in about three hours thanks to you. As of last night, we had a little over $2,000 left to go.
And thank you all again for your support. You are literally helping keep entire families alive during a genocide and I love you for it.
