@Dero summer orange season is coming to an end here (Australia) I guess. I don't understand shipping fresh fruit half way around the world. You used to see California oranges for sale here in our summer, and I just refused to buy them.

I have read reports that US orange production is collapsing due to disease anyway. I'm not sure if it's practical to grow them in Canada though.

@tjbutt58 Near where I live on #VancouverIsland some people grow citrus fruits. But very location specific and not enough for more than limited sale. Under eves, against fences, sunny spot and wind protection with heater for winter freezes. Others grow avocados in greenhouses

Substack tries to lure folks into migrating to its platform, hoping they will ignore that its leaders think its fine to have racists and Nazis on Substack. At the moment I have only one substack "newsletter" in my feeds. It seems to be one of those "above the fold" type feeds, but I can't entirely tell whether the writer just likes abrupt endings to posts.

Trying to migrate my whole #Nigerian family from #WhatsApp to #Signal 😅 Digital communication has been a godsend for Nigeria. I grew up with my aunties having to buy a calling card, find a call center, place a call with horrible connection. My parents had to yell to be heard and there was always a delay. Now we can talk, text, video call with ease. These tech advancements have been like magic. Migrating to #NonCorporate apps is the final puzzle piece.

The ADL, which has been tossing out false accusations of antisemitism against anyone and anything thing that has opposed Israel's campaign of butchery and genocide is the same organization that gave Elon Musk a pass for his nazi salute.

if you just Zoom out on the Trump/TikTok timeline, all that happened is he went from an initial position of TikTok fully divesting to a U.S. company in 2020, to accepting a 50/50 split in 2025.

He just folded to a worse deal when TikTok went offline after the divestiture deadline.
