If Void Linux didn't make the list then I'm curious how they depurified themselves. Or is Linux in general out b/c of the kernel stuff?

That's why I'm asking, I have no idea about any of the Linux distros, but the kernel is a good point as well..

They accept LLM-based contributions, if they are understood by user. On the other hand, one of their maintainers dropped >100 packages, because they were asked to not use LLM, so Void's policy enforcement is unclear.

Oh no, no. That one was just a problem with someone's ego. But well, IMHO what you describe is rather byproduct of various factors (failing into hype cycles, unreasonable faith, laziness, incompetence...), not necessarily a wilful move.

True, but it's kind of sadly hilarious that people can't see that for what it is.

I mean, they didn't mean to set a bear trap immediately outside your front door, but they just so happened to be hunting bears there, real unfortunate, so sorry. 😄

What if they see that, but there are other constrains which enforce them to accept the status quo? Constrains which not always are in their control. Or maybe they are hyped so much that they cannot see the verso of the whole LLM industry. I think that we should rather sympathise with them, because they are used not at their will. Propaganda has its use from hundreds of years.

I'm not unsympathetic, and it's of course easy for me to point out the flaws in the logic from a distance.

Still... there's just so much "going along with the flow" in our society. :(
